Q. How long does it take to paint a body?

A. Depending on the design and amount of coverage, a body paint session could take a few minutes or several hours. A simple one-color, air-brushed stencil could be done in a snap, whereas a full-body, very detailed design could take hours. Bigger jobs with many models call for a team body paint artists, which helps reduce the overall prep time.

Q. Will the paint rub off?

A. We use high-quality, water based body paint that will stay on for your entire event. It moves with your body and won’t rub off, or smear. It only takes a few minutes to dry, and once dry; you can touch it, hug people, and even throw on light, soft clothing over it.

Q. How long does the paint stay on?

A. If you follow our directions and your skin is free of lotion or oil and you’re not a person who sweats profusely, the paint should last all day/night. However, all skin types are different, and the paint does need to be treated with relative care.

Q. Is it hard to remove the body paint?

A. Ease of Removal of paint is again dependent on skin type. Hot water and soap usually takes it off well but rubbing baby oil on the painted area and letting it sit a few minutes will loosen the paint as well.

Q. What kind of paint do you use?

A. The Body paint Factory prides itself on using professional grade body paint that’s safe for skin and non-toxic. Depending on the needs of the job, we’ll either use an alcohol-based or a water-based paint. The alcohol-based paint lasts longer and takes longer to remove. Water-based paint is always our choice for children and pregnant women. Alcohol-based paint is preferred for event models, performers, and go-go dancers.

Q. What design should I get?

A. You can start by looking through our galleries of photos for inspiration, or do an image search online. You can upload reference pictures of body paint you like on our Contact Form. Or you can describe for us what you want, and we’ll try to replicate it. Although we can copy designs from pictures, we prefer to custom-make a unique design for every job. Still not sure? Let us know the theme of your event, your company colors and/or logo, your favorite color, things you like, etc., and we can help you brainstorm or design it all for you.

Q. Can I go out wearing body paint — and nothing else?!

A. Body paint Factory uses both top and bottom pasties for women and so is completely legal under Nevada law to walk around in your paint publically. Nevada law states

NRS 201.261 “Nudity defined as:

  • The showing of the human female breast with less than a fully opaque covering of any portion of the areola and nipple;
  • The showing of the human male of female genitals or pubic area with less than a fully opaque covering of any portion thereof;
  • The depiction of the human male genitals in a discernible turgid state whether or not covered. (http://www.leg.state.nv.us/nrs/NRS-201.html#NRS201Sec261)

Unfortunately, paint is not considered clothing, so pasties are the minimum coverage allowed. We always provide pasties with your paint, and we will advise you on the proper underwear to bring if your design requires it. Because casinos have different rules (and can be extremely hit-or-miss in enforcing those rules!) we advise bringing a light, soft cover up like a satin robe to wear while passing through casinos. It can always be removed once inside the club or party. It only takes one grumpy security guard to ruin your night, and sadly we have no control over them! Please be aware you are being painted at your own risk.

Q. What’s included in the photography package?

A. We will email you the unedited pictures from the photo shoot in small digital files (5″ 7″ at 72 dpi — perfect size for web use). You choose your five (5) favorites, and then we edit and retouch those to make them perfect. We will email you the final, edited five pictures at full-size high-resolution to print if you wish. Additional high-resolution choices may be added for $10 each.

Q. What do I need to do on the day of body painting?

A. Ladies come with shaved skin, men with trimmed body hair, and NO OIL OR LOTION on your body. This is very important as it will affect the paint’s adhesion! Also you may want to bring slippers and a light robe.
